Total Officiating was created out of a deep desire to give back to the game that opened many doors for me, with softball serving as the catalyst. My goal is to help sports officials recognize the critical importance of rule knowledge and in-game mechanics. These elements—rule comprehension, proper mechanics, and approachability—form the bedrock of great officiating. Coming from a family with a rich sports background, including my father, a former professional football player, and my mother and uncle, both former officials, I’ve always felt destined to follow this path. Early on, I recognized a gap in the Houston area when it came to professional-level instruction in softball officiating. Driven to elevate the craft, I set out to mentor and develop the best sports officials in the city. Every day, I’m committed to helping Houston’s officials become the finest in the nation.

Officiating softball for me is primarily for the love of the game. I also enjoy the rush of knowing that I have to stay ready to make a good and decisive call at any time while having the confidence in the skills to do so. Total Officiating is a community of officials at all levels that feed off each other for the knowledge of the game and I love that. I also love that in this community we travel abroad as a unit, understanding that it takes teamwork to get where we are.

I started officiating fast pitch softball because I missed being part of the game. To me, the best part of Total Officiating is being in a position to help others improve and move toward achieving their goals in softball.

The reason that I started umpiring softball is that I have a passion for the game. That love has grown to where I get to share my passion with my peers as well as enriching the lives of youth in our communities. My enthusiasm for the game over the years has only grown stronger. Officiating has allowed me the opportunity to visit many parts of our great country while affording me the flexibility to care for those I love the most. Total Officiating is truly a family and an organization I am proud to have been a part of over the years.

For the last 15 years, I've been cheering from the sidelines as my husband officiated softball games, and in that time, my love for the game has only grown. But what truly made this journey special are the incredible officials we've met along the way—they've become like family to us. Total Officiating is that family. Being a part of this group means so much to me because I get to support an organization built on fairness, professionalism, and integrity. I'm proud to play a role in keeping things running smoothly and ensuring the standards we stand for are upheld. It's deeply rewarding to work with people who share the same passion and mutual respect while making every game an amazing experience.

Why do I officiate: Because there is nothing like the challenge of officiating the game from ground level. To be part of the game you love and be able to protect the integrity of the sport.

I started on my umpire journey when I watched my daughters play softball one day. I recognized that with my professional background how I could contribute to this game. As a result, I started my umpire journey. The journey quickly turned into passion. Through that passion, a desire to improve as a softball official. This led me to Total Officiating where we are elevating fellow officials in all aspects!
